Japan, known for its green teas, is now embracing the trend of fermented teas. As black teas from places like Darjeeling and Sri Lanka gain popularity, local tea companies are following suit and producing successful black teas. This organically grown Benifuki is a result of a hybrid of Thea Assamica and Sinensis shrubs, developed in 1965 in the Kagoshima region district. The flat, coarse leaf of this tea boasts a deep black appearance and a reddish golden cup color, with a full-bodied taste and a hint of ripe plums in the aftertaste.

Measure 1.5 tsp per cup (8-10oz)
Add 212° water
Steep 4-5 minutes
